Modo Class

Here are some of the exercises I have done for my Modo class at Concept Design Academy. The class is really fun! There is tons of talent in our class and Vaughan Ling is an cool teacher.

I wanted to try out in Modo concept I have been meaning to develop, called the Aurora Barge. It is an idea for a sci-fi pleasure barge, inspired by Janet Echelman's net sculptures. It didn't quite work out the way I imagined though, so I will probably continue with it in photoshop. Modo is a great tool, I just have to find a way to use it that fits me.

These are thumbnails for the 2012 Production Challenge over at CgHub. I'm participating in the 2D section of the challenge. My task is to create a movie poster, based on original character designs by Adrien Smith. You can check out Adrien's drawings and learn more about the contest on the CgHub Forums.

Since the story is open to interpretation, I experimented with different relationships between the characters, and took inspiration from a Fancis Bacon quote: "The job of the artist is always to deepen the mystery." At the moment, my favorite compostions are 2 and 7. Please let me know what you think by commenting here or posting in my thread, thanks!
